  • Daniel Abebayehu

    Assistant Professor
    Currently Recruiting
    Daniel Abebayehu headshot
Dan Abebayehu, PhD, studies fibrosis and how different types of fibroblasts could promote tissue regeneration, instead of scar formation. Dr. Abebayehu's research has been supported by an NIH Mosaic Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) which provides promising postdoctoral…
  • J. Milton Adams

    Professor Emeritus
    J. Milton Adams

Adams earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UVA in 1976 and returned to join the faculty in 1978. His “Physiology” class in the Department of Biomedical Engineering has a reputation of being one of the best courses in the Engineering School. In addition, he still accepts a full load of academic advisees annually.

  • Timothy E. Allen

  • Liheng Cai

Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering (by courtesy) Assistant Professor of Chemistry (by courtesy)
    Currently Recruiting
    Liheng Cai

My lab’s research lies at the interface of soft (bio)materials and biology. We seek to understand and control the interactions between soft (bio)materials and living systems to solve challenges in sustainability and health. We do this using a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches.
