Adrian Shimpi, Ph.D.

About
Dr. Adrian Shimpi is a biomedical engineer that focuses on understanding the molecular networks that contribute to cellular heterogeneity. As a member of Dr. Kristen Naegleās lab, Adrian focuses on using data-driven and computational approaches to study the molecular networks associated with phosphotyrosine signaling. He integrates these computational methods with cellular and molecular engineering approaches to investigate how changes in cellular microenvironments alter the complex networks that regulate cell phenotypes. His goal is to understand and describe the molecular ecosystem available within different cell states and how they relate to diseased states.
Adrian received his Ph.D. from Cornell University under the mentorship of Dr. Claudia Fischbach-Teschl. During his Ph.D. he applied integrative approaches to understand the interplay of the extracellular matrix and cancer cell phenotype heterogeneity. During this time, he received the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
