Professor of Biology and Biomedical Engineering Center Director-WM Keck Center for Cellular ImagingDr. Periasamy is a global authority in advanced microscopy, specializing in molecular imaging in living cells and tissues. He designs optical methods to study protein interactions, monitor cancer cell/tissue parameters, and pioneered fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) development.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biomedical EngineeringDr. Róża Kamila Przanowska is a Polish molecular biologist specializing in non-coding RNAs in cancer and development. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Kevin Janes’s laboratory at UVA, she investigates the heterogeneity of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.

Jeff Saucerman, PhD, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, combines computational models and high-throughput experiments to discover molecular networks and drugs that control cardiac remodeling.
Baoxing Xu

Dr. Xu joined the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Virginia in the fall of 2014. He received his PhD in Mechanics and Materials from Columbia University in 2012 and was a Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2012 to 2014.
