Sarah is working on studying SCC in nuclear waste containers made from stainless steels. She was awarded the Olsen graduate fellowship for her oustanding undergraduate and post-undergraduate research. We are so excited to work with you, Sarah!

Patrick Steiner has successfully defended his PhD work!
Dr. Steiner has successfully defended his PhD research titled "Mechanistic Studies of Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking in Al-Mg Alloys under Atmospheric Exposure Conditions". He's now moving onto his post-doc position in Ohio. Bye Patrick!

Patrick Steiner Successfully Defended his Proposal!
Patrick's proposal, titled "Mechanistic Studies of Intergranular Corrosion and Stress Corrosion Cracking Under Atmospheric Exposure Conditions", investigates SCC cracking in 5xxx series aluminum in saline and chloride rich environments.

Adam Thompson and Dr. Zach Harris' New Publication
Adam Thompson and Zach Harris' paper entitled "Examination of focused ion beam-induced damage during platinum deposition in the near-surface region of an aerospace aluminum alloy" is accepted for publication in Micron.

The Burns Group presented a lot at the International Conference on Fatigue Damage of Structural Materials XII in Hyannis, MA
Zach Harris gave a talk titled, "Characterization of the effects of high altitude environments on dislocation structure evolution during fatigue loading of 7075-T651."
Andrew Jamieson presented a poster titled, "Quantifying the effects of type II hot corrosion on the high temperature fatigue cracking behavior of a Ni-based superalloy." -
