About Daniel:
I am the youngest of three sons and soon to be a proud uncle. I am the president of the UVA ACM chapter and an avid board game connoisseur. My hobbies include rock climbing and crew (both rowing and theater). I've been a teaching assistant for many courses and am considering a future in education. I volunteered at a zoo for six years, I almost started a pajama business with my high school best friend! I am a graduating third year and will be working full time for MITRE and pursuing my masters at UVA.
How Daniel achieved success this year:
Two things that really helped me were a forgiving attitude and supportive relationships. After experiencing part of a semester remotely and a summer indoors, I was seriously burnt out and unmotivated. I was looking at spending my last year of college away, so I had to make the best of it. I picked up a few projects that I wanted to do for myself and made it clear that it wasn't going to be a perfect semester. This helped me destress in an otherwise stress-inducing year.
At the end of the Fall semester I got Salmonella. I was bedridden and unable to do anything for three weeks. Only with the support of my professors and care of my parents was I able to finish my semester strong and with dignity.
